FUNDACION CRISTO VIVE

a foundation of private rights from May 1990, acknowledged by the Chilean State 

The goal of our fondation is to show society that Christ lives:

in sharing the bread, in the struggle for the dignity and justice of the people of our society that are forced to live on the edge; through education and up-bringing of children and juveniles, in caring for diseased and the pennylessly, through the education and acknowledgement of women, through fostering art, culture and organization of the poor and, above all through accepting, loving and serving the most deprived. We work ecomenically, start from the problems and miseries of the needy and jointly look for solutions. Based on the values of justice, truth and love we try to build bridges of understanding and compassion in betrween the different social classes in our country, in order to achieve an authentic and holisticum liberation of these people and communities.

We try to reach these goals in various services:

1. Basic Parish "JESUS SOL NACIENTE"
Población Héroes de la Concepción, Recoleta

• Cooperation with the group for "brotherly help" for needy families
• Suppoprt for the financing of the adult-education and the work with the youth
• Scholarships for fundless students and scholars
• Patronships for Kids, families and unemployed
• Legal counceling and defence in court

2. Basic Parish "CRISTO VIVE"
Población Quinta Bella, Recoleta

• Work with 70 Children from socially threatened families (PRODI)
• Support for fundless families and various non-profit Initiatives
• Legal counceling and defence in court
• Disabled-group
• Anonymous alcolholics
• Support for the education of  Katecheten and youth-group-leaders
• Work with drug-addicted juveniles
• Accompaniment of the christian basic parish

3. Frauenzentrum "PRISMA DE LOS ANDES"
Calle Santo Domingo 1690, Stgo. - Centro

Courses:

• Education of young women in domestic economy, cooking, baking, as a legal assistant and in other services
• Training and tutoring for 14 independent women's-workshops and five cooperative societies, as well as legal and administrative advice
• Cooperation with the Comercializadora de Productos Artesanales (CPA), the distribution-company of the independent women's-workshops
• Exhibitions of the artwork from the women's-workshops

4. Vocatonal Education-Center  "CLOTARIO BLEST"
Avda. Recoleta 5441

• Vocational education of on average 600 juveniles p.a. in nine manual professions (mecanic, metal craftsman,welder, sanitary installer, joiner for furniture, joiner for constructions, carpenter, gardener, electrician).
  exemplary project relating to the German vocational school "basic-level"

5. Health-Care-Center: "CONSULTORIO DE SALUD FAMILIAR CRISTO VIVE"
Avda. Recoleta 4125

• Basic medical aid for approx. 15000 Persons of the poor neighborhood Héroes de la Concepción and surroundings.
• General practicion, preventiv medicine, home-visits, general care, counceling for mothers, heulth-education and –advice
• Psychotherapy, family-planning and –orienteering as well social support
• Integrated as exemplary project in the state's health-care

6. Población VILLA MERCEDES,
Renca

• Day-Care-Center "CRISTO VIVE"
  (at this time 120 Kids are taken care of, until we will dispose of greater funds)
• Policlinic with medical care, home-visits, socialstation

7. Small projects with unemployed

• Resocialization
• shared kitchen for penniless families

• "NACIENTE": 320 kids from three months up to six years
• "DIOS CON NOSOTROS": 30 disabled kids and juveniles from 6 up to 25 years of age with a center for Children and young adults with mental disabilities or behavoral and speaking disorders
• "INSTITUTO EDUCACIONAL P. ALBERTO HURTADO"
• "JARDIN CAMPANITA": 300 kids from 3 months up to  15 years of age Day-care-Kindergarten and elementary school with all-day attention
• "ESCUELA COIHUECO", Mapuche-school with 115 children (in the country southwards)

Thanks to the commitment of a few young German volunteers, we have, as you can see, an eMail adress,  a charge-free access to the internet and since recently we have a homepage that is regularly updated (in English, Spanish, German and French).

Thanks to the company PRODUCTOS FERNANDEZ S.A. we were able to publish an information-brochure about the work of the  FUNDACION CRISTO VIVE , also translated to English by volunteers.
