Technical Education and Training

We provide career training and opportunities for work insertion to 850 youth each year, by means of: 

 

School of Technical Job Training, EFPO

Provides free technical training to poor, unemployed, or inexperienced youth complemented with personal and social education and ultimately assistance with acquiring a dignified and satisfactorily paying job. With this purpose the school provides courses throughout the day in different specialties through two modules of five months each.

Courses:

  • Industrial and Maintenance Mechanics

  • Welding: Arc. MIG-MAG, TIG y Tig y Oxicut

  • Residential and Industrial Electrician

  • Bathroom and Natural Gas Installation

  • Foundational and Finished Building Contstruction

  • Furniture construction

  • Gardening and Landscaping

  • Nursing Assistance

Beneficiarios: 650 youth annually from the greater Santiago area, primarily from the northern sector.

Personel: 53 hired professionals, among highly qualified professional educators, administrative and service personnel, and volunteers.

Physical Resources: 7,000 m2 of constructed buildings on 3 hectares of land.

Investment: 2.900.000.000 CP ($5.8 million US) supported principally by European governments, NGOs, private organizations and people from Germany and Luxemburg and Chilean institutions such as Fundación Andes.

Financing: SENCE (Ministry of Work) and supporting donations.

Needs: Professional and technical advising in adult education and positions provided by the school. Volunteers for psychological support and youth counseling. Personal and financial contributions for the development of sporting, artistic, and cultural activities and events. Businesses and industries that receive students and/or hire graduates of the school.

School of Technical Job Training, Prisma de Los Andes

Provides free professional training to poor youth, coupled with personal and social education and ultimately assistance with acquiring a dignified and satisfactorily paying job. With this purpose, it provides courses in food preparation and hotel, judicial, and administrative services.

Establishment: Women’s Program of the Fundación Missio, 1978.
